The tsunami waves cause considerable destruction and kills people in wide range, the detective section of the proposed system consist of a microcontroller and accelerometer sensor to detect the tsunami occurrence eventually the principle follow on the onslaught of tsunami and if there is any abnormal pressure rise in the sea water. The accelerometer sensor is used to provides an output depending on high pressure wavelength and feed to microcontroller announce the oncoming to a concerned peoples in a particular area or region through mobile computing. GSM is used to send warning messages to individuals respectively.

A gel forming Polysaccharide gum obtained form the bark of Araucaria bidwilli was employed as a matrix sustained release tablet formulation of Diclofenac sodium (a non steroidal anti inflammatory agent). The effect of Araucaria bidwilli gum ( Natural ) and Synthetic polymer Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose ( HPM C K4 M ) on the release of Diclofenac sodium was studied. The FT - IR spectroscopic studies of drug, gum and mixture indicated no chemical interaction . Six formulations were prepared by wet granulation method containing Araucaria bidwilli gum pow der concentration 10 % 20 % & 30 % w \ w and 10 % 20% &30% w \ w of HPMC K4M with sufficient volume of granulating agent Polyvinyl pyrrolene (PVP K 30) , Avicel pH101 as diluents , Magnesium stearate and Aero silis used lubricant and glidant respectively . This study was carried out to find out the difference between synthetic and natural gum and whether synthetic gum can be replaced by natural gums. Physical and techno logical studies of granules and tablets were compliance with Pharmacopoial standards . The drug release increased with Araucaria bidwilli gum when compared to synthetics polymer concentration. The value of release exponent were found to be almost straight line and regression coefficient value between 0. 9 38 and 0. 99 8 . This implies that the release mechanism is diffusion. Formulation F3 (contained 30% w \ w Araucaria bidwilli gum) met the desired requirements for a sustained release dosage form. Keywords

Residual stress in weldments is one of the major concerns in manufacturing industries especially in welding. They occur, sometimes during the initial processing of metals and sometimes during rolling, forging, casting etc. In welding these stresses develop due to non uniform cooling of the welded zone. Tensile stresses are primarily responsible for crack initiation and product failure. Residual stress may also lead to premature failure of the welded joints when subjected to hazardous conditions. There are various physical methods of detection of residual stress in weldments such as x-ray diffraction and deep hole drilling. Nevertheless, numerical method is also one of the most popular methods among researchers to solve various complex engineering problems. In this work, numerical simulation is carried out by creating a 2-D model of the Austenitic stainless steel weldment with various boundary conditions using ANSYS 15.0 software and the results are studied. The details of residual stress are explained with relevance to failure occurrence. Keywords

A high performance liquid chromatographic method has been proposed for the simultaneous determination of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride and ornidazole in pure and dosage form. The HPLC instrument of Agilent technologies (Agilent 1120 LC Germany) model was used where the drug was chromatographed on a C-18 Zorabax column (4.6mm x 250mm) using a mixture of acetonitrile and water (Millipore Q, pH 3.0 adjusted with O-phosphoric acid) in the ratio of (45:55v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1ml/min and the detection was done at 299nm (isobestic point). The retention time for ciprofloxacin HCL and ornidazole were 1.96 and 4.33 min respectively. The calibration curves were found to be linear in the range of 12 to 20 μg/ml with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998 and 0.9997 respectively. The results of analysis have been validated statistically and by recovery studies. The percentage recovery was obtained for ciprofloxacin HCL and ornidazole of 99.86 to 100.14% and 100.40 to100.53% respectively. The simplicity and accuracy of the proposed method ensures its use in routine quality control analysis of pharmaceutical formulations.

Vegetable cowpea or Yard long bean [Vigna unguiculata var. sesquipedalis L. (Walp)] is a warm season leguminous crops grown especially for vegetable purpose along the west coast of India. In Goa, pole type varieties are preferred over bushy types as they offer multiple harvests with comparatively longer pods. There is wide variability found for different morphological and other traits in the local types cultivated in the state of Goa. Exploration of genetic variability in the available germplasm is a prerequisite for initiation of any successful breeding programme. Twenty nine genotypes of vegetable cowpea including three improved varieties collected from different parts of Goa state were evaluated for twelve quantitative characters including yield. High variability was observed for pod yield/plant, number of pods/plant and pod length. The high variability for pod yield per plant is apparent as the pod yield ranged from 315.25 to 2070.45 g/plant with an average of 827.48 g per plant. Pod yield depends on number of pods per plant, pod length and pod weight. Number of pods per plant ranged from 36.65 to 147.80. Pod weight depends on pod length, number of seeds per pod and hundred seeds weight. Wide variation was observed for all these characters in the present study. The GCV value was maximum for pod yield per plant (g) followed by pod weight (g) and number of pods per plant. Low values of GCV were observed for days to first flowering, days to first harvest and number of seeds per pod. In the present study, the twenty nine genotypes could be grouped into fourteen clusters based on genetic distance. High coefficient of variation was observed for pod yield per plant, pod weight, number of pods per plant and pod length indicating their significant contribution in determining the inter cluster distances. Keywords
